OSG Launches ADOX Coolant-Through Carbide Drill for Stable, Versatile, and High-Performance Machining

TOYOKAWA, AICHI, JAPAN―October 15, 2025―OSG Corporation today announced the release of the ADOX, a high-performance coolant-through carbide drill engineered to deliver stable, versatile machining and long tool life across a wide range of materials.

The ADOX features OSG’s original “MEGA COOLER” coolant hole geometry, designed to maximize coolant flow. Combined with the “R Gash” design, which enables ultra-low cutting resistance and exceptional chip control, the ADOX ensures consistent performance and long-lasting durability.

Enhanced coolant delivery and optimized cutting edge geometry promote excellent chip formation and efficient evacuation, even under low coolant pressure. The MEGA COOLER maintains discharge volumes comparable to conventional models at reduced pressure levels, helping reduce energy consumption by minimizing reliance for high-pressure coolant systems.

The drill’s wavy point form achieves low thrust, improving machining efficiency and reducing stress on the workpiece—ideal for high-productivity operations. The ADOX is also coated with OSG’s proprietary EgiAs coating, offering exceptional toughness, wear resistance, and heat resistance for stable tool life.

Compatible with a wide range of materials including carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel, the ADOX supports tool consolidation by eliminating the need for separate drills per material. It is available in diameters from 2 mm to 6 mm, with drill lengths ranging from 3xD to 30xD.
